What is FDR Week?
FDR Week is a focus week for Family Dispute Resolution options and opportunities for both separating families and also for professionals involved with separating families. The “process” used to resolve family issues is often as important as the laws that govern children, support, and property when a relationship breaks down.
Leading up to and during FDR week there are a number of sessions and events that address all aspects of separation and divorce. These include process options, such as mediation, arbitration, collaborative processes, parenting coordination, court, and others. Also, information will be available on the emotional, financial and legal aspects of separation. For professionals, FDR Week, through various forums, offers current information about issues relating to children and the views of the child, changes and trends in the family law, process option updates, and access to justice issues.
