Academic & Policy
Co-chairs: This section is currently seeking co-chairs.
The Academic and Policy Section is a place for our intellectuals to consider ideas, debate evolving standards and consider solutions to the many challenges facing not only FDR professionals but also the public in accessing affordable access to family law justice.
Our section creates opportunities for dialogue and education about areas of FDR research, and FDR policy. We are open to proposals for topics, speakers, and above all, venues.
We have, during each annual FDRweek, hosted a Forum addressing contemporary issues including best practices, access to justice research, concepts of faith, community and pluralism in FDR, and, most recently, a scholarly conversation about the concept of “Best Interests of the Child” both practically, as well as theoretically, from a legal and psychological perspective. Please contact us if you have ideas for the next Forum, or want to get involved.
